I was referred to Dr. Dajai Scott by my doula during my third pregnancy, which was also my first time working with both a doula and a midwife. From the very beginning, Dajai put me at ease. She created a safe space where I felt comfortable asking any questions, and her care felt like family. At 40 weeks, I had a minor fall at home and went to the hospital as a precaution. After several hours of monitoring, the doctor recommended medical induction—something I did not want. Dajai and my midwife team supported me fully in my decision to wait and allow labor to begin naturally. With their encouragement, I went home, returned the next day refreshed, and began the natural birthing process I had hoped for. Dajai was by my side through every step of labor—walking the halls with me, helping me into different positions, coaching me, and advocating for me. She wasn’t just a midwife; she was a partner, a guide, and a steady source of strength in one of the most critical moments of my life. My labor and delivery felt natural, comfortable, and filled with love, and I couldn’t have imagined a better experience. One special memory I’ll always cherish is that Dajai even agreed to make an Instagram Reel with me while I was in labor—it was such a fun, natural moment that captured the beauty of natural birthing. Dr. Dajai’s passion for equipping women—especially Black mothers—with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to advocate for themselves shines through in her care. She empowered me to trust my body and my choices, and for that I will always be grateful.
